An update on the workshop
Slow pour, paused.
Saturday's tasting and brewing workshop at Velvet Oak has been cancelled. The morning flight and brew clinic are off - we'd rather call it early than run a quieter version of the thing.
Cancelled
Saturday, June 27, 2026 - was 10:00 to 13:00 - Velvet Oak, Linden Lane
What changes
Thanks for holding a seat.
We had four roasts, three brew stations, and a flight timed to the cup. The plan was good - we still mean to run it - just not this Saturday. The note we'd send to each reservation now reads more or less like this one.
If you reserved a seat, watch your inbox for a short message from us the next time we set a date. Until then, the espresso bar is open as usual at Velvet Oak, and our retail bags are on the shelf if you'd like a taste of what we'd lined up.
The line-up we'd prepared
Four coffees that were on the slate for Saturday.
- 01
Ethiopia - Yirgacheffe, Halo Beriti
Washed
Jasmine, bergamot, white peach.
- 02
Colombia - Huila, Pitalito
Sugar cane decaf
Milk chocolate, hazelnut, soft citrus.
- 03
Guatemala - Antigua, Finca La Soledad
Washed
Brown sugar, dried apple, cocoa.
- 04
Kenya - Nyeri, Tegu Estate
Washed
Black currant, tomato leaf, bright grapefruit.
These were roasted in small batches for the workshop. Most of it stays on the retail shelf at the bar for the next few weeks.
